Congratulations on your engagement!

We are pleased that you are considering First Presbyterian Church, Galveston for your wedding.

For over 180 years, the First Presbyterian Church on Galveston Island, Texas, has nurtured Island residents and visitors, extending the love of Christ to all it encounters. Build your marital history on this same foundation of Christ. We invite you to start your history with us at Galveston’s historic First Presbyterian Church.

All couples who want to be joined in a committed Christian marriage may be married at First Presbyterian Church.

Create Your History Together

At First Presbyterian Church on Galveston Island, we know about history. In our sanctuary, surrounded by several Tiffany & Co. stained glass windows, the oldest organized church in Galveston worships. The sanctuary has survived the Great Fire of 1885, the Great Storm of 1900, major Hurricanes of 1915, 1943, Carla, Alicia, and Ike. Built on a foundation rooted in love for and faith in God, First Presbyterian Church is a fitting place to begin your marriage history together as you exchange Christian vows of love, faith, and commitment through any trial.

Wedding Services

Each wedding at the church is supported by our team of wedding professionals, which includes the minister, wedding liaison, professional accompanist, sound engineer, and custodial staff. The costs for this staff support are included in the wedding fee.

The sanctuary has seating for up to 400, and is equally a beautiful setting for intimate weddings.

Rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions may be held at the church, with no alcohol. The fellowship hall and commercial kitchen are available for added fees.

Details of your ceremony will be arranged with the minister of First Presbyterian Church. The minister will provide premarital counseling and officiate your wedding.

A non-refundable scheduling deposit of $250 is required to reserve a wedding date and will be applied to the wedding fee. All remaining fees are due 30 days prior to the wedding.

For fees and more information contact the church office.
