Children’s Worship

Stephanie O’Connor Director of Youth & Children

With the end of the school year and all its activities, May will be a quiet month for Youth & Kids at FPC. The staff and volunteers will be busy getting ready for Vacation Bible School which will be the week of July 24-28. The theme this year is “Hero Central – Discover Your Strength in God.”  There will be a VBS volunteer meeting during Sunday School on May 21st. We could still use more volunteers who would be able to work the week of July 23-28 to help in the actual VBS. If you are interested, Stephanie O’Connor would love to speak with you about where she could use your help. Be sure to tell all your friends with kids ages 3 years until 5th grade completed about our VBS. It is always a great time of music, drama, crafts and more that the kids seem to love as they learn about God and His love for us.

If you haven’t seen the Children’s Chapel on the 2nd Floor of the Education Building, you are missing an experience. The chapel is nearing completion with its faux painted stained glass windows, pulpit, communion set, and hymnals.  Recently the Salyers were instrumental in obtaining a donated keyboard so the kids will have their very own musical instrument. A gentleman named Joseph Harwood from Houston donated the gently used Yamaha Keyboard to the Children’s Chapel. Cadee Salyer will serve as accompanist. The children’s services include Scripture reading, singing, offering collection and monthly Communion. It is a Sanctuary and church service in miniature where our FPC kids can learn about and worship God with their peers. Thank you to those who have helped to make the chapel such a lovely worship space.
